Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to expand the Gynaecology Oncology Nursing team, to meet the needs of the service and support service development. This is a full-time position, for a fixed term/Secondment period of 12 months (from commencement of employment). We are currently reviewing the expansion of the team on a more permanent basis.
We are looking to recruit a highly motivated, enthusiastic nurse who is keen to expand on the fantastic work currently carried out withint the service. This role will be to work alongside the established team in supporting the patients and those important to them, who access our services. You will be involved in Quality Improvement and audit of this. You will work with the medical and nursing team within Gynaecology and the wider trust, in order to provide the best care to our patients.
You will have significant experience in Gynaecology and some clinical experience of the Oncology role and be keen to provide advice and education to patients and colleagues.
The successful candidate will be supported to develop interpersonal and communication skills as the role includes difficult conversations with patients and those important to them. Also, developing professional relationships with services across secondary and primary care.
Main duties of the job
The post holderwill collectively manage a clinical caseload
The post holder will be a primary resource and specialist nursing link throughout the patients cancer journey.
The post holder will provide clinical excellence through practice in the gynaecology cancer service, providing the highest possible standard of care to patients and families using the service.
To provide support, advice, education and leadership to health care professionals in line with national and local guidelines ensuring a cohesive, holistic and evidence-based approach
The post holder will work with and develop links with wider members of the MDT within and also outside of the trust.
The post holder will ensure a seamless service is provided, addressing problems and taking remedial action to maintain excellent standards of care, including escalation and reporting through the correct Governance processes.
The post holder will work alongside the established team to provide evidence of the benefits of expanding the team, making recommendations for future services.
