Job summary
The interview date for this role will be 28th September 2023.
As Senior Phlebotomist you would be supervising and ensuring the smooth running of 2 Phlebotomy sites- at B.D.G.H and the Community Diagnostic Centre located in Barnsley town centre.
They will have extensive knowledge and experience of all duties and competences required of a Phlebotomist. The post holder will supervise the team in the day to day running of the service.
Main duties of the job
To ensure all phlebotomy staff perform their duties safely and effectively to a high quality.
Provide help to other team members in times of difficulty/need where it is felt the support of a Senior is required.
Organization of staff rotas and plan annual leave/absence cover where required.
The post holder will be responsible for arranging all mandatory competence-based training requirements for their team.
Deliver the practical element of the Trusts Venepuncture training package and mentor through their training all newly appointed staff.
Record and deal with any service user comments/complaints accordingly.
Assist in the investigation of complaints as required.
Day to day organizational responsibilities of the Phlebotomy team, reporting any anomalies to the Phlebotomy Service Manager or other appropriate Manager.
In addition to these duties the post holder will share responsibility to deputise for the Phlebotomy Services Manager as required in their absence.
