Barnsley
Hospitals Trust is proud to be able to offer the opportunity for an outstanding
midwife to join our experienced and passionate team of labour ward
coordinators. The role will be to provide clinical expertise and will require
the post holder to have excellent clinical, communication and interpersonal
skills. As a coordinator you will be supporting junior staff in their
development and will involve liaising with and escalating to with the wider MDT
and senior management teams. You must hold current NMC registration.
Main duties of the job
Highly skilled in all aspects of intrapartum care and is
determined to lead by example, modelling an approach which is compassionate and
approachable. The candidate should have a special interested in promoting safe,
evidence-based care and be determined to strive for this.

- Extensive all round experience in midwifery - including substantial labour ward experience.
Qualifications
Essential
- Registered Midwife - with valid NMC registration.
- ENB 997/998 or other equivalent teaching qualification.
- Educated to post graduate Diploma level/or equivalent.
- Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics (ALSO) course.
- Newborn Life Support (NLS) course.
- 1st line management qualification/or equivalent.
- Mentorship and preceptorship training.
- High dependency care training.
- Trained in extended roles (perineal repair, epidural topups, venpuncture, canulation and IV additives, PH sampling).
- Evidence of ongoing professional development and fulfilment of PREP requirements.
- Fulfilment of all mandatory training including CTG updating, adult resuscitation and MDA training.
