An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and dynamic candidate to join our team of hospital playleaders
The playleader team provide essential services to patients and their families to minimise the trauma that admission to hospital settings can have. The role also involves contributing to the organisation, supervision, and provision of therapeutic play for children/young people and their families within the trust
The role of the hospital playleader covers all areas of childrens services Childrens ED, Childrens Assessment Unit, Childrens Ward, neonatal unit, Childrens outpatients, as well as other areas such as day case surgery and other outpatient clinics.
The Hospital playleader team cover 7 days/ week and work 08:15-16:15.
Working hours a week: 30 hours.
Main duties of the job
Use theoretical knowledge and evidence-based practices to appropriately assess, plan implement, and evaluate play interventions in the hospital as needed.
Appropriately use knowledge of child development when selecting play activities, considering the individual needs/abilities of the child as required.
Accurately document all therapeutic interventions and outcomes as required within the role.
