0168 - Lead Nurse - Cardiology

Job summary

An exciting opportunity has come up within the Cardiology Ward at Barnsley Hospital for a secondment as a Lead Nurse. The role involves managing the cardiology ward alongside the Coronary Care Unit. The Cardiology ward is a 25 bedded unit alongside the 4 bedded Coronary Care Unit which supports Level 2 patients. We are looking for a passionate registered nurse who can lead and support the Cardiology team to deliver safe and effective care to our Cardiology patients.

Main duties of the job

The role includes management responsibilities such as: sickness management, capability and supportive measures, governance, roster management, quality improvement, etc. In addition to this, this includes working clinically within the Cardiology ward, supporting junior staff and sharing expertise, whilst maintaining high standards of practice.

The applicant must be able to maintain good working relationships with those within the MDT to help to deliver and improve the standards of care.

Prior cardiology experience is not essential but is desirable as you are expected to be able to work clinically within the cardiology speciality as well as supporting junior staff in the management of cardiology patients.
