The Neonatal Unit is committed to providing
evidence and researched based family centred care for our 14 cots, that
comprise of 2 Intensive, 3 High Dependency and 9 Special Care.
The Neonatal Unit at Barnsley Hospital
is currently looking for a Neonatal Sister/Charge Nurse to join their existing team. In liaison
with the Lead Nurse and other sisters, you will lead and co-ordinate a dedicated team of nursing
and support staff, in the delivery of a high standard of nursing care.
It is essential that you are a RN or
RSCN with the Qualification in Specialty in Intensive Care of the New-born course at diploma or
postgraduate level.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for someone who has an excellent knowledge of
neonatal care, and experience supporting the multidisciplinary team to maintain
high standards. As the nurse in charge you will co-ordinate the shift,
allocating staff a patient workload, whilst also taking your own patient workload
and carrying the neonatal crash bleep. You will liaise with EMBRACE regarding
cot availability and risk assess the capacity to accept in-utero or ex-utero
transfers.
You will also be required to input data onto BadgerNet, and escalate
if staffing or acuity causes us to fall below BAPM standards.
