Clinical Group Quality & Safety Advisor Band 7

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Quality and Safety Advisor to join our Clinical Group Quality & Safety Team.

This role is key to supporting the delivery of the Trust's Patient Safety Incident Response Framework (PSIRF) and embedding a systems-based approach to patient safety, learning, and continuous improvement. You will work closely with clinical and operational teams to ensure effective incident management, high-quality learning responses, and the implementation of sustainable improvements.

Main duties of the job

o Support the coordination and management of patient safety incidents in line with PSIRF, including triage and identification of appropriate learning responses.o Facilitate multidisciplinary learning response meetings (e.g. PSII, After Action Reviews, thematic reviews).o Provide guidance on systems-based investigations, human factors, and report quality.o Ensure Duty of Candour compliance and accurate documentation.o Monitor and track learning actions, ensuring implementation and evaluation of impact.o Support investigation of complaints, claims, and inquests, ensuring learning is integrated into improvement work.o Analyse incidents, complaints, and patient feedback to identify themes, trends, and risks.o Contribute to governance reporting and provide assurance to senior committees and external bodies including the CQC.o Support delivery of quality improvement initiatives, including audit, NICE compliance, and PDSA cycles.o Deliver training and advice to staff on patient safety, governance, and risk management.

We run a Women's Health Hubin Ilford; an Ageing Well Centrein Hornchurch; and Community Diagnostic Centres (CDC) at Barking Community Hospitaland at St George's Health and Wellbeing Hub. These CDCs are open 12 hours a day, 7 days a week.

The majority of our 8,400 staff - who come from 146 different countries - live in the three diverse London boroughs we serve and are from black, Asian and minority ethnic groups.
