Job summary
There is an exciting opportunity within the BHRUT Information Technology Department for a Telecoms Senior Lead (Band 7), working two days per week. Reporting directly to the Infrastructure Manager, you will provide and deliver a high-quality telecoms technical support service to customers and stakeholders. Working as part of the Telecoms Team, you will ensure all incidents, service requests and changes are delivered in line with BHRUT Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
You will act as a subject matter expert in Telecoms infrastructure, supporting and maintaining BHRUT telephony systems, including telephones, DECT phones and bleeps. The role requires a strong client-focused approach, promoting excellent customer service and effective working relationships. You will also support service delivery and contribute to Telecoms Team projects in line with the Informatics PMO.
Key responsibilities include managing daily, weekly and monthly telecoms support checklists, providing 3rd line technical support, troubleshooting complex ICT issues, and ensuring accurate documentation and SLA compliance. You will work with customers and engineers to resolve technical issues through root cause analysis, maintain system patching and firmware updates, manage hardware replacements, ensure secure and reliable backups, and maintain device security, encryption and antivirus compliance. You will also create and deploy installers, applications and Gold Build images across BHRUT devices.
Main duties of the job
The Telecoms Senior Lead will be responsible for delivering and maintaining highly effective telephony services, ensuring the provision of an efficient, reliable 24-hour, 365-day service across Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust (BHRUT).
The post holder will provide specialist support in the operational management, implementation and ongoing maintenance of telephony communication networks and related projects. This includes ensuring continuity of service to all end users, managing and supervising approved third-party service providers and contractors, and providing guidance and support to Telecoms Analysts.
The role will deliver technical expertise within the Telecoms domain by identifying, recommending, developing, implementing and supporting cost-effective technology solutions across the Trust. Working closely with colleagues across the team and department, the post holder will troubleshoot complex issues and contribute to the delivery of major and specialist projects.
