Job summary

BHRUT maternity department is looking to recruit an enthusiastic Deputy Matron for Antenatal Clinics and In-Patient Wards . This post holder will provide midwifery clinical input and provide level leadership to the maternity. This role requires a highly motivated individual, able to demonstrate leadership and problem-solving skills working closely with the multi-disciplinary team, specialty Matrons, Head of Midwifery (HOM) and Lead Nurse for Women's Health and the Director of Midwifery and Divisional Director of Nursing for Women's Heath (DOM).

Main duties of the job

The post holder is responsible for providing accessible leadership in order to deliver the key quality, performance and financial standards and plans within their areas(s) of responsibility. Providing visible and proactive leadership acting as a clinical resource and ensuring the sustained delivery of high standards of all care and service standards.

Working as an autonomous practitioner, they will lead and be accountable for midwifery performance and the achievement of all local, organisational and national targets and standards, within their area(s) of responsibility.

We run a Women's Health Hubin Ilford; an Ageing Well Centrein Hornchurch; and Community Diagnostic Centres (CDC) at Barking Community Hospitaland at St George's Health and Wellbeing Hub. These CDCs are open 12 hours a day, 7 days a week.

The majority of our 8,400 staff - who come from 146 different countries - live in the three diverse London boroughs we serve and are from black, Asian and minority ethnic groups.
