Job summary
We are seeking an exceptional and ambitious financial leader to join Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust (BHRUT) as our next Chief Financial Officer. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, this is a pivotal leadership role at the heart of our organisation. BHRUT serves around 40% of North East London's two million residents and manages over £1bn of revenue and approximately £50m of capital each year, making this a role with significant scale, reach and impact.The Trust is focused on improving value for money and steering the organisation towards a sustainable, break-even financial position, making this a role with both scale and purpose.
Main duties of the job
As CFO, you will bring a deep understanding and demonstrate extensive experience of NHS finance along with strong strategic insight. You will have previous experience of financial improvement as well as being able to work collaboratively with clinical leaders to balance patient quality, service delivery with financial stability. You will have track record of developing teams and embedding a culture of high performance and inclusion.As a full voting member of the Trust Board, you will play a critical role in shaping and delivering a financial strategy that underpins high-quality care, operational excellence and long-term organisational stability. About us
We're an organisation that is getting better and betterand ourimprovements are driven by a determination to deliver care we're proud of and our patients are happy with.
They are benefitting from a new electronic patient record(we were the last acute trust in London to introduce one) and our maternity services have been rated goodby the Care Quality Commission.
We operate from two main sites - KGH in Goodmayes and Queen's Hospital in Romford. We have two busy emergency departments with more than 330,000 people visiting them last year. We're campaigning to secure the £35m we need to transform the A&E at Queen'sand get rid of corridor care.
We're proud of our regional Neurosciences Centre, Radiotherapy Centre and Hyper Acute Stroke Unit. We're also part of the North East London Cancer Alliance
We run a Women's Health Hubin Ilford; an Ageing Well Centrein Hornchurch; and Community Diagnostic Centres (CDC) at Barking Community Hospitaland at St George's Health and Wellbeing Hub. These CDCs are open 12 hours a day, 7 days a week.
The majority of our 8,400 staff - who come from 146 different countries, live in the three diverse London boroughs we serve and are from black, Asian and minority ethnic groups. Many can work flexiblyand more than 400 of them are on our Ofsted accredited apprenticeship programmes. We're proud to be a London Living Wageemployer.
