Are you a motivated Pharmacy Technician, dedicated to improving the care and safety of NHS patients in a busy acute hospital Trust?We are looking for a Pharmacy Technician to join our pharmacy team supporting our clinical pharmacy services at Barking, Havering and Redbridge Hospitals NHS Trust. You will be responsible for delivery of a high-quality clinical pharmacy service and supporting the overall Medicine Optimisation agenda in the Trust.You will support the ward pharmacy service as part of a multidisciplinary team, carrying out medicines optimisation activities including medication history taking, counselling of patients and supporting the safe discharge of patients by transcribing discharge medicines on to the electronic discharge summary.We are looking for an experienced and forward-thinking Pharmacy Technician with excellent organisational and interpersonal skills. You will play a major role in the improvement and development of the clinical pharmacy services, embracing new technologies and opportunities, so that the service continues to evolve to meet the demands of our service users in a changing NHS.Applicants must be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) and must also hold an accreditation in Medicines Management which meets the standards of the National Medicines Management Framework. The suitable candidate will need to have a breadth of pharmacy experience in a hospital setting, with the proven ability to perform as a team player.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will assist the Chief Pharmacy Technician, Clinical Services in the provision of clinical technical services to wards and departments. They will assist in the provision of a TTA/eDS transcribing service to designated wards as well as provide medicines reconciliation support to the clinical pharmacy team. They will assist in the updating of procedures; partake in audits and systems for the monitoring, organisation and supply of medicines during the patients admission and discharge
