Exciting Opportunity: Band 8a Clinical Lead Speech and Language Therapist.

Salary: Band 8a (£50,952 - £57,349 per annum, depending on experience)
Are you a motivated and dynamic Speech and Language Therapist ready to step into a leadership role? We have a fantastic opportunity for a Band 8a Clinical Lead SLT to join our forward-thinking team at BHRUT, working across both of our acute hospital sites.
About the Role:
This post shares leadership responsibilities with an established Band 8a Clinical Lead and is supported by the wider Therapies Management Team. Together, you'll provide clinical leadership and operational management across a range of adult and Paediatric services, including:
Acute Speech and Language Therapy
Intensive Care (ITU)
Oncology
Acute Paediatrics
You'll work collaboratively with your co-lead, offering cross-cover during periods of leave, and leading on service improvement and innovation. Areas of specialist focus may be flexible and adapted based on service needs.
Main duties of the job
Undertake a Clinical Lead and operational role in delivering and evaluating SLT Services in BHRUT across BHR Hospital sites.
Take a major role in developing, delivering, and evaluating SLT Services by assisting with the production of reports, making recommendations for change and ensuring all staff are well informed about both SLT and BHRUT issues.
To lead in your clinical area of expertise to develop and implement service improvements in this area.
Supervision and appraisal of a highly motivated group of Band 7 SLT's and teaching the wider SLT team.
Lead on professional advice regarding the SLT Service, including assessment and intervention for the service.
Be responsible for ensuring professional standards of Speech and Language Therapists are maintained within the SLT Service.

We're looking forward to introducing an electronic patient record next year. This will mean the records of any patient visiting one of the seven hospitals run by BHRUT and Barts Health will be accessible to the clinical teams. It'll make things easier for staff and will be better for patients.
