Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Registered Learning Disabilities Nurse, Registered Mental Health Nurse, Adult Nurse or Children Nurse to join the Trust's Learning Disability & Autism Team as the Learning Disability & Autism Nurse/Practitioner.
In the first instance, applications are invited from Registered nurses with experience of working with people with learning disabilities and/or autism.
The post holder will be working as the Learning Disability & Autism Nurse/Practitioner within a dynamic team providing support to people with learning disabilities and/or autism and their care networks before, during and after their hospital visit or appointment.
We are looking for someone who is self-motivated, has effective organisational skills, highly developed communication skills and the ability to interact with people from a wide variety of professional backgrounds. The post holder will be responsible for improving the quality of care received by individuals with a LD and/or autism within the acute hospital setting by ensuring both local and national best practice is integrated within the Trust. They will act as a role model and clinical expert within the speciality of learning disability nursing across all areas of the Trust, supporting clinical staff in the management of care planning for patients with LD and/or autism.
Main duties of the job

All new staff appointed to posts at the Trust are subject to a probationary period. This will give the new staff member an opportunity to become familiar with the culture and working environment of the Trust.

These CDCs are open 12 hours a day, 7 days a week and are providing an extra 94,000 scans a year.
