Job summary
Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals Trust are actively recruiting for a motivated and dynamic Band 3 General Therapy Assistant. Three roles are available: a permanent full time, a permanent 30 hours a week and a 9 month fixed term contract to join our stroke therapies team. You will work alongside Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and Speech and Language Therapists providing rehabilitation plans for these professions. Working across the Stroke wards along the pathway including our Hyper acute and acute stroke unit at Queen's Hospital and our Rehab unit in Goodmayes.
As a member of this team you will be required to communicate well and be confident to work within guidelines and protocols. Working in this passionate and innovative team you will have the opportunity to expand your clinical skills and knowledge with regular in house training.
Essential criteria include;o Evidence of recent experience working with people.o Good standard of general education, to G.C.S.E. level or equivalento Good communication skills

Main duties of the job
To provide skilled routine, and some non-routine, clinical and non-clinical support to the Therapy team, this includes Physiotherapists , Occupational Therapists and Speech and Language Therapists.
To accept patients allocated by the qualified therapist and treat according to protocols and guidelines, monitoring patient progression and making minor alterations to patient treatment programs as requiredTo work independently, with access to direct supervision as required. To maintain close communication with the qualified therapists to facilitate patient care
To actively participate in departmental induction and in-service training program
To carry out other duties deemed necessary by the relevant Team Lead in discussion with the post holder to ensure adequate provision of service
