Job summary
Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals Trust are actively recruiting for a Band 3 Therapy Assistant . We are looking for a motivated, dynamic and innovative individual to join our therapy department at King George Hospital. Working in a fast paced environment, you will have the opportunity to offer admin and clinical support to our therapists in the frailty team . As a Band 3 Therapy Assistant you will have the opportunity to build a strong set of skills such as carrying out therapy programmes as directed by the therapist, ordering equipment and assisting in home assessments.You will have strong written and verbal communication skills, some experience in direct patient care and an awareness of the role of therapy within the trust.We have a strong commitment to continuing development with an established in service training programme.You will be well supported by experienced therapists.In line with the Government agenda for the NHS, we have recently re-configured our Integrated Therapy service structure to provide a 7 day service. Main duties of the job
To provide skilled routine, and some non-routine, clinical and non-clinical support to the rehabilitation team, this includes Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists
The state registered therapist will at all times remain responsible for:
o Primary assessment of patiento Referral for treatmento Clinical discharge of patiento Setting the primary clinical treatment plan and monitoring the progression of the patiento Overseeing the clinical quality and ensuring appropriateness of the treatment practised on the patient

Our patients are benefitting from our Women's Health Hub in Ilford; an Ageing Well Centre in Hornchurch; and Community Diagnostic Centres (CDC) at Barking Community Hospital and at St George's Health and Wellbeing Hub in Hornchurch.
These CDCs are open 12 hours a day, 7 days a week and are providing an extra 88,000 scans a year.
