Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and self-motivated Occupational Therapist to join our team providing a therapy service to older adults within Beech Frailty Unit. An emergency department for older adults

The responsibilities of the post will be to monitor quality of care and provide expert Occupational Therapy input. The department is actively involved in the education of other health care professionals and you will be expected to participate in this training. You will work as part of an integrated therapy team and liaise closely with community organisations

We are looking for innovative individuals who are excellent communicators, good team players with exceptional leadership skills. Successful candidates will have the ability to integrate into a multidisciplinary working environment.

Main duties of the job

Through a holistic approach, to provide a specialist standard of Occupational Therapy service to patients within your area of speciality, facilitating and maximising patient potential within the service boundaries

To give highly specialist guidance to other members of the MDT on matters relating to your specialist area

Our patients are benefitting from our Women's Health Hub in Ilford; an Ageing Well Centre in Hornchurch; and Community Diagnostic Centres (CDC) at Barking Community Hospital and at St George's Health and Wellbeing Hub in Hornchurch.

These CDCs are open 12 hours a day, 7 days a week and are providing an extra 88,000 scans a year.

The majority of our 8,000 staff - who come from 146 different countries - live in the three diverse London boroughs we serve and are from black, Asian and minority ethnic groups. Many can work flexibly and more than 400 of them are on our Ofsted accredited apprenticeship programmes. We're proud to be a London Living Wage employer.
