Job summary

The Modality Lead for Interventional Radiology carries significant clinical and operational responsibilities within the organisation, specifically for the management, development, and oversight of General Interventional Radiology, Interventional Neuro Radiology, fluoroscopy, and Cardiac catheter services as part of a multidisciplinary team. The individual in this position will be responsible for delivering high-quality, efficient, cost-effective, and equitable diagnostic services across the imaging modality.

You will be a member of the Radiology Management Team, providing strong and credible leadership for the Interventional Radiographic Service at Barking, Havering, and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust. This role requires a balanced combination of clinical and managerial duties.

Teaching and training are crucial components of this position, both within the organisation and at regional and national levels. The post holder will oversee the training of radiographers and students in all aspects of radiographic and relevant clinical practice, including comprehensive competency assessments.

You will support the Radiology Professional Lead, Clinical Lead, Operational Lead, and others in providing strategic and inspirational leadership to foster a caring, fair, and open culture aligned with our Trust values.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will hold senior clinical and operational responsibility for the organisation, management, and development of General Interventional Radiology, Interventional Neuro Radiology, fluoroscopy and Cardiac catheter services as part of a multidisciplinary team. They will be responsible for providing high-quality, efficient, cost-effective, and equitable operational diagnostic services in across the imaging modality.

These CDCs are open 12 hours a day, 7 days a week and are providing an extra 88,000 scans a year.
