Job summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic, well-motivated and reliable person to join our friendly team in the Pharmacy QA/QC Department within the Pharmacy Production Unit at BHR University Hospitals NHS Trust. The department is based on two sites: Queen's Hospital in Romford and King George Hospital in Goodmayes. The Queen's Hospital site is the current primary work base, however working at the King George Hospital site may be required. The post is initially at Band 2 level with progression to Band 3 on completion of training checklist.
You should have GCSC level of knowledge, preferably in a science-based subject, or equivalent level of experience in a similar role. You will be computer literate, have the ability to follow procedures, have good written verbal communication skills and an enthusiasm for learning. The post holder will receive formal training within the Trust as well as within the Pharmacy QA/QC Department.
Performance will be assessed regularly by an appraisal system and laboratory-based competence assessment.The post holder will work in all areas of the pharmacy production unit on a rotational basis, including the radio-pharmacy.This position may require early starts sometimes i.e. at 0700hrs and at times the post holder will have to work alone. This is a full-time post working from 8am - 16.30pm weekdays (Mon - Friday) however working on the weekends might be required if a need arises.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will assist the Pharmacy QA team in all aspects of Quality Assurance including document maintenance and storage, environmental monitoring of aseptic rooms, receipt and storage of broth media, temperature monitoring and QC testing of radiopharmaceuticals.

We're looking forward to introducing an electronic patient record next year. This will mean the records of any patient visiting one of the seven hospitals run by BHRUT and Barts Health will be accessible to the clinical teams. It'll make things easier for staff and will be better for patients.
