This is a Band 2 health care position to work in Theatres supporting the multidisciplinary team within the department. You must have a flexible approach to working hours to apply for this position.
We are looking to recruit a highly motivated and enthusiastic Theatre Health Care Assistant who works with 'PRIDE' to join our dynamic multidisciplinary team at Queens Hospital BHRUT.
You will develop new skills and knowledge whilst working with an established team gaining valuable work experience.
We have 16 operating theatres with various specialities including Neurosurgery, General Surgery, Vascular Surgery, Ophthalmology, ENT, Trauma, Gynaecology, Maxillo Facial, Pain and obstetrics and work across two sites Queens Hospital and King Georges Hospital.
You will be committed to clinical excellence, with effective communication, interpersonal and organisational skills. You should have a flexible approach to working hours and be prepared to develop further skills within the operating department.
Main duties of the job
To support the Theatre Team in providing a high-quality service in line with all Theatres and Trust Policies and Procedures.
Communicate effectively with members of the Theatre team and ward staff when collecting and transporting patients.
You are able to show empathy, compassion to the patients during their transfer from the ward to the Theatre Suite.
The aim of this role is to support the Registered Practitioners in providing safe and effective patient care.

We know we have more work to do to improve waiting times for urgent and emergency care, and our performance against the four-hour emergency access standard remains challenged, in comparison to many other London trusts.
We are particularly proud of our regional Neurosciences Centre; Radiotherapy Centre; Hyper Acute Stroke Unit; and dedicated breast care service at King George Hospital. We're also pleased to be part of the NEL Cancer Alliance.
