Job summary

BHRUT are currently looking for a Courier Transport Driver to join their team to provide a safe & efficient Transport service for the Trust & their customers as directed by the Transport Manager covering goods, post & passengers.

Main duties of the job

Job Summary:

  • Drive vehicles following all procedures to ensure the timely & efficient collection & delivery of goods, equipment, documentation & people to & from BHRUT sites & other sites as designated by the Transport Manager
  • Ensuring excellent customer service whilst minimising risk.
  • Facilitate the safe loading & unloading of vehicles
  • Reporting all matters of discrepancy between transported loads & covering documentation or electronic records.
  • Operate handling equipment during loading or unloading where necessary, such as sack barrows, mobile cages, pallet trucks in a safe & efficient manner.
  • Carry out daily vehicle checks to ensure roadworthiness including tyres, oil, water etc maintaining internal & external cleanliness
  • Participate in any on call Hospital/Trust rota as appropriate.
  • Participate in flexible working times as service dictates to enable a transition to 7 day Just in Time working.

Experience

Essential

  • Full UK Driving Licence (minimum of 5 years driving experience)
  • Must be able to drive: Cars, small vans, transit vans and 3.5 tonne tail-lifts
  • Fully flexible
  • Right to Work in the UK
