Job summary

The Medical Staffing Manager oversees the management of a team of Medical Staffing Coordinators and is pivotal in ensuring the smooth running day to day of the Medical staffing hub as well as leading the Academy of Medicine from an administrative perspective.

The role is key in the success of delivering safe medical staffing for our wards and on calls.

Main duties of the job

To act as the Senior Medical Staffing Coordinator for the Medical Workforce Hub for the provision of cover for annual, study and sick leave for medical staff. To provide administrative support to the Divisional Director, Specialty Leads, Specialty Manager and Service Delivery Managers in managing all medical staffing. To provide accurate and timely information related to medical staff management including the production of the weekly Acute Medicine Rota. To work closely with Divisional Director, Specialty Leads and Specialty Manager developing processes to support junior doctors on all issues relating to their employment within BHRUT. Oversee the running of the Medical Workforce Hub, managing the Medical Staffing Coordinators and their workload and development.

We also provide outpatient services at Brentwood Community Hospital, Barking Hospital, Loxford Polyclinic, and Harold Wood Polyclinic. We have two of the busiest emergency departments in London.

As we recover from Covid-19, we're proud to be leading the way nationally in reducing the time our patients wait to get the treatment they need. The pandemic provided the drive forour teams to innovate and change.

We know we have more work to do to improve waiting times for urgent and emergency care, and our performance against the four-hour emergency access standard remains challenged, in comparison to many other London trusts.

We are particularly proud of our regional Neurosciences Centre; Radiotherapy Centre; Hyper Acute Stroke Unit; and dedicated breast care service at King George Hospital. We're also pleased to be part of the NEL Cancer Alliance.
