Job summary
We are offering an exciting opportunity for you to come and join our Amber team wards. The wards consist of 2 units with a bed base of 31 beds in each unit. The wards specialty base is Orthopedics, Trauma and Vascular . Queens hospital is a centralised trauma center with a reginal neuro unit, so it is a busy hospital, and you will gain a lot of experience.
Our services include all the major specialties of large acute hospitals, operating from two main sites - King George Hospital in Goodmayes and Queen's Hospital in Romford. We also provide outpatient services at Brentwood Community Hospital, Barking Hospital, Loxford Polyclinic, and Harold Wood Polyclinic.
Queens Hospital has easy access to local bus routes and Romford station. Romford station is part of the Elizabeth line and central London can be easily accessed within 30 minutes. Westfield Stratford is also easily accessible on the Elizabeth line within 20 minutes giving you access to over 250 shops, 70 restaurants alongside cinemas and a bowling alley. There is also a large football stadium within the Olympic park that also holds international artists concerts.
We have had some recent changes in the leadership of both amber wards including the appointment of this year's internationally educated nurse of the year.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for highly motivated candidates to come and join our specialised teams. Amber teams are part of the surgical care group, and we believe in empowering our workforce and ensuring that your opinion is valued.
We are looking for candidates who have the patients' best interests at the heart of their daily care and are looking to join a successful muti-disciplinary team. We have a great focus on personal growth and development and have a dedicated practice development nurse to provide support for you, alongside preceptors within both wards. They will provide educational and clinical support including group sessions, training, one to one development and simulation training.
We can offer post graduate training for specialised orthopaedic and vascular courses once you have consolidated your first 6 months successfully.

We are particularly proud of our regional Neurosciences Centre; Radiotherapy Centre; Hyper Acute Stroke Unit; and dedicated breast care service at King George Hospital. We're also pleased to be part of the NEL Cancer Alliance.
