Job summary

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a post offering clinical experience in Cardiology. This post is suitable for post foundation stage doctors or junior doctor with some previous experience in Cardiology planning to pursue a career in Cardiology. This is a fixed term post for 6 months with a possibility to extend.

BHRUT is one of the largest acute trusts in the UK, providing acute care for over 700,000 people. The successful applicant will work at Queens and King George Hospitals providing and taking part in a range of services including supporting Cardiology outpatient clinics, Inpatient reviews and the post holder will have ward commitments.

The post will also support patients on both sites and will work closely with the Clinical Nurse Specialists in Cardiology. This post will give an excellent opportunity to gain experience in Cardiology with attendance encouraged at departmental and regional Academic meetings.

There is an on call commitment allocated to this post. This is banded and you will participate in the on-call rota.

The Trust has on-site nursery facilities.

Main duties of the job

The successful applicant will be providing and taking part in a range of services to support the Cardiology service and the wider team.

The range of services include: -

  • To attend Cardiology consultant led ward rounds for inpatients and to provide day to day high quality inpatient care
  • To participate in Cardiology outpatient clinics, whilst supporting the consultant team
  • Work closely with the Cardiology nurse specialists within the Cardiology service to deliver patient care
  • To support other key areas of work which supports the delivery of patient care within the Cardiology service
