Job summary
Are you passionate about improving the experience of patients who use our hospitals?
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our Patient Administration Outpatient Department at Queens Hospital.
To provide a comprehensive, professional and efficient reception service to both the multidisciplinary teams and patients of the unit. Ensuring electronic records are accurately maintained and outcome with responsibility for ensuring future appointments are booked as per clinician instruction.

Main duties of the job
1. To welcome and receive all patients and visitors attending the department. To carry out identity checks including overseas visitor compliance and accurately update the electronic PAS system as appropriate.
2. To maintain a professional clean workspace ensuring patient data is protected at all times.
3. Responsible for 'checking-in' patients ensuring check-out' of all and non-attending patients on the electronic PAS system on completion of their consultation, making future appointments as per clinician instructions. Ensure the appointment is communicated to the patient by letter as well as 'face to face' when able.
4. Capture and record on the electronic PAS system all completed procedure codes identified by the clinician on the outcome form.
5. Complete the 'cashing up' process for all patients on completion of the clinic ensuring all outcome forms are returned by the outpatient nurse checking that clear clinician instructions for the ongoing care of patients who Did Not Attend (DNA) their scheduled appointment. Please note this role can be at any of our sites.

As we recover from Covid-19, we're proud to be leading the way nationally in reducing the time our patients wait to get the treatment they need. The pandemic provided the drive forour teams to innovate and change.
We know we have more work to do to improve waiting times for urgent and emergency care, and our performance against the four-hour emergency access standard remains challenged, in comparison to many other London trusts.
We are particularly proud of our regional Neurosciences Centre; Radiotherapy Centre; Hyper Acute Stroke Unit; and dedicated breast care service at King George Hospital. We're also pleased to be part of the NEL Cancer Alliance.
