Theatres at Queens Hospital are now seeking band 6 qualified Nurse or ODP on the HCPC register with extensive scrub experience in various specialties which include robotic surgery, eyes and pain and CEPOD emergency theatres.An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and driven band 6 nurse with extensive scrub experience. You should have the experience and skills to lead and support the multidisciplinary team within theatre promoting high quality patient care.
The department consists of 16 Operating theatres specialising in Neuro, Gynae, Maxillofacial, Trauma, Ophthalmology, Robotics, Vascular and General Surgery. You will become a valuable member of a supportive theatre team.

This role requires flexible working, with your working hours involving early, late and twilight shifts. Main duties of the job
To provide integrated clinical leadership to a team of nurses within the department in order to care for patients in the Operating Theatre environment to the highest possible standard and to develop practice with support from the Team Leader.
To assume responsibility for the operational management of staff and resources in the absence of the Team Leader, taking a lead in a specific aspect of operational management in the Theatre setting.
To act as a role model and create an environment that promotes excellence in Theatre nursing practice and empowers staff to develop high levels of clinical skills and autonomy.

We are particularly proud of our regional Neurosciences Centre; Radiotherapy Centre; Hyper Acute Stroke Unit; and dedicated breast care service at King George Hospital. We're also pleased to be part of the NEL Cancer Alliance.
