An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Charge nurse/sister to join our team on Gardenia ward at King George Hospital.
Our 25 bedded ward provides acute inpatient care specialising in dual specialty of cardiology/gastroenterology.
We are looking for an individual who is passionate about patient care and who is driven to working in collaboration with patients, families and multidisciplinary services to provide an individual, holistic and person centered approach to nursing.
As the senior Nurse you will be accountable for team performance and the quality of the service delivered.
You would act as a role model to our team, support staff through clinical leadership and guidance helping them to develop their own clinical skills.

Main duties of the job
To provide a focused leadership role and manage the staff and activities of the ward or clinical area as a supernumerary ward based leader.(G6)
To act as a role model, provide leadership and co-ordinate the ward team in the clinical area.
To demonstrate advanced clinical specialist skills in order to provide the highest standard of individualised evidence based patient centered care while supervising the work of others (in line with local and national standards). To have continuing responsibility for the ward/clinical area.(G6 CD5 HWB5).

We know we have more work to do to improve waiting times for urgent and emergency care, and our performance against the four-hour emergency access standard remains challenged, in comparison to many other London trusts.
We are particularly proud of our regional Neurosciences Centre; Radiotherapy Centre; Hyper Acute Stroke Unit; and dedicated breast care service at King George Hospital. We're also pleased to be part of the NEL Cancer Alliance.
