Job summary
The Radiotherapy Physics department at Queen's Hospital in Romford is seeking to fill a Band 6 dosimetrist post, to work in the Treatment Planning section of the department.The department is a well-equipped centre treating patients from across East London and Essex. External beam radiotherapy is delivered on Varian Halcyon, Edge, and Ethos Therapy linacs. The department was the first in the country to treat patients on Halcyon, and to treat patients with on-line adaptive radiotherapy on Ethos. The Edge treatment machine is our primary stereotactic machine, with high-definition MLC, 4D-CBCT, 6 DoF couch, and is HyperArc-enabled. The department also has an Xstrahl Superficial & Orthovoltage unit.Treatment Planning is done on Eclipse 15.6 (with Rapid Plan and MCO licences) and in Ethos. The department fully supports a wide range of clinical trials, and has an excellent selection of QA devices and software. We are committed to introducing the latest treatment techniques as well as the latest equipment; within the next six months we will be installing a new CT scanner, Identify SGRT on CT and all linacs, Hyper Sight imaging system on Ethos, and Limbus AI auto-contouring.

We are particularly proud of our regional Neurosciences Centre; Radiotherapy Centre; Hyper Acute Stroke Unit; and dedicated breast care service at King George Hospital. We're also pleased to be part of the NEL Cancer Alliance.
