Job summary

This post would suit a pharmacist who is highly motivated and looking for an opportunity to utilise their knowledge and skills in an exciting and challenging environment. You will be based within our Anaesthetics and Critical Care Pharmacy team and your role will be to provide patient-focused care to patients on the high-dependency and critical care units and to develop our medicines optimisation agenda across the Division.

As a tertiary referral centre for neurosciences this post will offer a unique opportunity to gain experience in in Neuro-Intensive Care.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be responsible for providing comprehensive, patient orientated pharmacy services to the Anaesthetics and Critical Care Division, inclusive of Critical Care, High Dependency, Theatres and the Pain Service. He/she will deliver a ward-based service to the High Dependency Unit and have the opportunity to train to provide to pharmaceutical care to Level 3 patients on General Critical Care and Neuro Critical Care. The post holder will work closely with senior colleagues and clinical technicians to ensure the provision of an integrated and efficient service.

The post holder will be based within the pharmacy department and will assist in the development of policies, guidelines and protocols under the direction of the Lead Pharmacist, Anaesthetics and Critical Care. Personal performance will be assessed through performance review.
