Job summary
To assist clinicians and other Health Professionals research, collate, analyse and prepare data from a variety of hospital informations sources for clinical audit, outcomes and service evaluation and generally contribute to the promotion of clinical effectiveness within the Trust.
To support staff in ensuring that clinical audit projects meet criteria set out in Principles for Best Practice in Clinical Audit (NICE, 2002), with audit cycles completed by re-auditing to assess whether improvements in clinical care have been sustained.
Assist Clinical Effectiveness Officers to ensure provision of accurate and timely data to National registries such as; Spine Tango, TARN, ICNARC and NNAP.
Main duties of the job
To plan and prioritise own work load ensuring deadlines are met.
To provide assistance and support to Operational Services Manager and Clinical Effectiveness Officers with duties relating to clinical audit, outcomes and service evaluations including; NICE and NCEPOD.
Assist Clinical Effectiveness Officers to ensure provision of accurate and timely data to National registries such as; Spine Tango, TARN, ICNARC and NNAP.
Provide support with the management of the clinical audit, outcome and service evaluation databases ensuring they are kept up-to-date and required information submitted.
Undertake, co-ordinate or support data collection, data analysis and presentation of data for specific audit, outcomes and service evaluation projects.
Provide advice and support for all staff throughout the Trust in the development and planning of clinical audit, outcomes and service evaluation projects.
Design data collection tools ensuring standards / guidelines are measured appropriately.
Plan data collection to ensure project deadlines are met. Set up spread sheets and / or databases and input data for approved audit projects ensuring accuracy and completeness of data.
To assist healthcare professionals in the preparation of reports and to ensure their presentation within required timescale and to assist in the summarising of these reports and action taken as required by audit, outcomes and service evaluations.
