This post would be suitable for applicants seeking to develop their skills across the spectrum of neuropsychology as an applied discipline within inpatient and outpatient settings.

The neuropsychology department offers excellent opportunities to develop skills and expertise, alongside a diverse range of specialisms. We have a strong history of supporting suitable candidates to complete the Post Graduate Diploma in Clinical Neuropsychology and the QiCN practice component in order gain entry to the Specialist Register for Clinical Neuropsychologists.
We provide neuropsychology input across the range of conditions seen within the neurology and neurosurgery divisions of The Walton Centre. The post holder will work with colleagues across neurology, neurosurgery and neuropsychiatry as well as the broad range of disciplines within the multidisciplinary setting of The Walton Centre.
The post holder is anticipated to spend time working in both outpatient and inpatient neuropsychology provision, with an initial focus on outpatient services.
Reduced hours may be considered for part-time working if this was preferable for the right candidate, and this could meet the requirements of the service.
Main duties of the job
To provide specialist analytical and clinical judgement skills to assess, formulate, treat and evaluate a range of neuropsychological and psychological difficulties.
To provide specialist interpretation of a range of neuropsychological and psychological assessment measures in relation to work with complex neuropsychological difficulties.
To provide group psychoeducation or intervention with specific patient groups.
For a newly qualified or soon to qualify Clinical Psychologist the post could be appointed as a preceptorship towards an 8a role for the right applicant wishing to develop from a band 7. Responsibilities would be adjusted accordingly.
To work in the in-patient and out-patient services. For the inpatient work this would include early support and interventions for people with acquired brain injury and other neurological conditions, as well as assessment.
To provide a high standard of care to a personal caseload of patients who have a neurological condition or acquired brain injury.
To work in collaboration with members of multidisciplinary teams, members of other disciplines and outside agencies.
