Job summary
To provide clinical support to the Physiotherapist and OccupationalTherapist within the Cheshire and Merseyside Rehabilitation Network Community Specialist TeamThe post holder will assist qualified therapy staff as directed to ensure the safe provision of effective therapy interventions. The role will involve providing administration support to ensure a well organised therapyservice.
Main duties of the job
1. Support registered therapy staff in the treatment and handling of patients in a manner that respects people's privacy, dignity and individuality. 2. Undertake therapeutic interventions both independently and under direct supervision of the registered therapist. 3. Support clients to engage in cognitive based activities that seek to increase independence with daily routine and activities.4. Liaise regularly with therapists regarding treatment progression and on going care. 5. Carry a designated case load and act responsibly in the execution of clinical duties paying due regard to health and safety of self and others. 6. Act as part of the multidisciplinary team liaising closely with a range of health and social care professionals.7. Assist where necessary in the provision of cover across the service in times of annual leave / sickness etc. 8. Ensure effective internal and external 2-way communication with patients, carers and all other Health and Social Care Professionals regarding aspects of patient care. Providing and receiving complex information which requires empathy and reassurance. Communicating where there may be barriers to understanding.9. Provide administration support for senior therapy staff to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of the rehabilitation service10. Prepare/maintain equipment and treatment areas including household duties. 11. Monitor/maintain equipment stocks and supplies under direction of senior therapists
