Job summary

This role is within the Financial Accounts team. The role requires the applicant to undertake a range of duties within the Accounts Payable team, allin accordance with the Trust's Standing Financial Instructions, Scheme of Reservation and Delegation and internal office procedures.

To contribute to the provision of a quality, responsive Finance service throughout the Trust.

Essential

  • 5 GCSE passes (grade C or above) including Maths/English or equivalent or equivalent work based experience.
  • Acquired or working towards a recognised accountancy qualification or relevant work experience in Finance

Desirable

  • Progression towards obtaining ECDL (IT skills).

Knowledg & Experience

Essential

  • Experience of working within a busy administrative environment.
  • Knowledge of computerised accounting systems.
  • Experience of using spreadsheets.
  • Practical accounts experience.

Desirable

  • Previous NHS/public sector experience.

Skills & Attributes

Essential

  • Team worker who can contribute effectively to the Section and Department objectives.
  • Good IT skills (Excel/Word/Outlook).
  • Able to plan workload in order to meet deadlines identified by managers.
  • Can demonstrate ability to work under own initiative when required.
  • Ability to reconcile control accounts.
  • Good communication skills with ability to converse with wide-ranging groups of people, especially the public.
