Job summary
TheCheshire and Merseyside Rehabilitation Network (CMRN) Community Specialist Rehabilitation Service (CSRS) is led from an interdisciplinary perspective with occupational therapists and vocational rehabilitation OTs working closely with physiotherapists, speech and language therapy and psychology staff to provide rehabilitation to patients with complex needs.
Due to retirement of the current post-holder, we are seeking a suitably skilled and experienced occupational therapist to join our community specialist rehabilitation service, as part of our CMRN Vocational Rehabilitation provision and as part of our wider community occupational therapy staffing.
We are exceptionally proud to be able to offer specialist Vocational Rehabilitation within the CMRN, so require an experienced occupational therapist who is passionate about Vocational Rehabilitation, to help us further develop and promote the service.
Main duties of the job
You will be responsible for the delivery of specialist and comprehensive Occupational Therapy interventions to patients with a range of complex physical and cognitive difficulties, with a strong focus on vocational rehabilitation. Experienced in delivering vocational rehabilitation and with a strong commitment to your further development in this specialty, you will also contribute to the broader occupational therapy case-load and contribute to overall team running. Peer support from an established, experienced VR specialist and various other opportunities for professional development are available via the service, CMRN and organization.
An effective team player with complex rehabilitation and community experience, you will also work autonomously to manage your own caseload. You must have the ability to transport yourself across bases and see patients in their workplace/educational environments, though some of the work can be carried out virtually.

- Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy
- Health & Care Professions Council registration
- Evidence of significant post graduate study relevant to Complex Rehabilitation and/or Vocational Rehabilitation
- Completion of vocational rehabilitation specific course/training
- Mentorship experience or Professional practice educators qualification
Desirable
- Completion of a specific Vocational Rehabilitation Master's degree or Master's degree relevant to Complex Rehabilitation or working towards
- Membership of a relevant VR/Work practice special interest group

- Substantial proven experience of carrying out a range of VR activity and able to evidence experience of responsibility for managing a case-load.
