Cheshire and Mersey Adult Critical Care and Major Trauma Specialised Clinical Networks (SSCN's) formerly Operational Delivery Networks are looking to recruit to their joint Director position.

Hosted by The Walton Centre NHS Foundation Trust this full time, permanent, band 8D post offers an excellent opportunity for someone looking to progress their career within a regional and strategic position, crossing traditional boundaries working with a range of commissioner and provider stakeholders across Cheshire and Merseyside and the Isle of Man.

Building on proven, previous experience and successful delivery in clinical, operational management and leadership roles the successful candidate will provide leadership and oversight of both networks informing and progressing the delivery of work plans that reflect the changes in commissioning arrangements for both services and that are aligned to the new national SSCN specifications.

In addition to working collaboratively with a range of providers, networks, NHS England and the Integrated Commissioning Board across the Cheshire and Merseyside and wider Northwest footprint, the post holder will be required to proactively engage in a number of nationally driven forums, initiatives and service developments.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will lead and manage the core SSCN team and ensure that both networks deliver an annual work plan, aligned to their respective SSCN Specification and that is reflective of both national and local regional needs and priorities and aligned to the following core network functions.

To facilitate cross organisational engagement and activity bringing together clinicians and managers from commissioning, provider organisations and educational institutions to develop services and care in a consistent and equitable manner.

To create a climate of innovation and improvement leading to the delivery of safer, higher quality patient centre care acting as a conduit between commissioners and providers across an Integrated Care System (ICS) to provide monitoring, collaboration and oversight of service delivery in line with national specifications and standards.

To provide oversight and facilitate coordination of patient pathways between providers over a wide area to ensure:

Equitable access to specialist resources and expertise

Improving outcomes and quality standards.

Development of evidence-based patient pathways

Reduction in any unwarranted variation in practice.

To ensure the network team are equipped to provide objective, specialist expertise and advice to support provider Trusts in service delivery, improvement and coordination of commissioned pathways, with a key focus on the quality and access to service provision.
