We are looking for a detail orientated, organised and professional governance officer to support our medicines safety, optimisation and pharmacy governance workstreams.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work as part of the Medicines Safety, Optimisation and Pharmacy Governance team to provide high quality support and facilitate and maintain administrative arrangements and procedures for the sound corporate governance of the Trust.

The post holder will also:

  • Maintain an active role in supporting office management ensuring requirements are sufficiently met.

  • Act as a point of contact as part of the Medicines Safety, Optimisation and Pharmacy Governance team.

  • Facilitate meetings within the Medicines Safety, Optimisation and Pharmacy Governance team.

  • Coordinate the production of papers, ensuring timely distribution of agendas and supporting papers for internal and external stakeholders.

  • Attend and minute specified meetings and accurately and appropriately record discussions and decisions taken.

Work as part of the Medicines Safety, Optimisation and Pharmacy Governance team, led by the Lead Pharmacist Medicines Safety to provide high quality support, facilitate and maintain administrative arrangements and procedures for the sound corporate governance of the Group.

Support the Medicines Safety, Optimisation and Pharmacy Governance team in the provision of secretarial support and advice to the Group. Maintain an active role in supporting office management ensuring requirements are sufficiently met.

Act as a point of contact as part of the Medicines Safety, Optimisation and Pharmacy Governance team.

To facilitate meetings within the Medicines Safety, Optimisation and Pharmacy Governance team.

To coordinate the production of papers, ensuring timely distribution of agendas and supporting papers for internal and external stakeholders.

To attend and minute specified meetings and accurately and appropriately record discussions and decisions taken.

Duties and Key Tasks

Medicines Governance

Maintain databases required for the role.

To implement effective systems for developing and managing the forward plan and agenda for each group/committee as agreed with each Chair or the Deputy Director of Pharmacy for Medicines Governance and Medicines Safety.

To maintain and monitor a schedule of actions for the groups/committees as required. To follow up meetings with action logs and ensure these are scheduled for matters arising or the forward planning as appropriate.

To manage key medicines safety, governance and optimisation projects to ensure the Chief Pharmacist fulfils the appropriate statutory duties.

To work closely with the Medicines Safety, Optimisation and Governance Team. To ensure venues, facilities and refreshments are booked.

Maintain an awareness of the changing regulatory environment affecting the Medicines Safety and Governance within the Group.

Infection Prevention & Control

All staff will adhere to infection control policies and procedures at all times and carry out role specific duties as per roles and responsibilities.

Confidentiality

Confidentiality/Data Protection regarding all personal information and Group activity must be maintained at all times (both in and out of working hours). All staff should ensure that they are familiar with and adhere to all Group privacy, confidentiality and security policies and procedures. Any breach of confidentiality will be taken seriously, and appropriate disciplinary action taken.

In accordance with Freedom of Information and other associated legislation, the Group may be required to make public recorded information available upon a request or do this as part of a publication scheme.
