Job summary
We are looking to recruit highly motivated, enthusiastic and hardworking nurses to our well established team. Candidates should have the ability, passion and knowledge to take on a busy outpatient environment as well as our smaller department situated on our Aintree site. The candidates must demonstrate the ability to work autonomously as well as within a team of other nurses.
When current staff where asked to describe the department in one word they used: "Enthusiastic", "teamwork", "fun", "amazing", "friendly", "collaborative" and "opportunities". Outpatients won team of the month in July 2021 for their contribution to the welfare of the hospital and more recently team of the year! As a team we are proud we have received a GOLD award accreditation status for the last 2 inspections and we work hard to maintain this award.
Main duties of the job
We run one of the best Ambulatory unit's in the North West and are a centre for excellence for HOLOGIC. As we are a centre of excellence staff members visit our unit from all of the country visit us to learn and observe our clinical practices. We currently run 10 ambulatory sessions per week seeing approximately, seeing approximately 50 patients per week. We have 4 Ambulatory consultants that you would be working closely with. In the Ambulatory suite we perform a number of different procedures, these include hysteroscopy, removal of fibroids and polyps, cystoscopy and botox, endometrial ablation. The unit is expanding and growing and we are excited to introduce new treatments and procedures for all our of patients.
The successful individual would also work in our recovery suite managing the admission and discharge of Ambulatory patients. All of our registered staff complete a comprehensive training package to enable them to deliver the best possible care to patients in procedure and recovery. As well as Ambulatory the candidate would also participate in a number of nurse led clinics including GNRH injection, Bladder installations, cystometrys and menopause implant clinic. This would be to provide support for patients and clinicians during routine consultations and diagnostic procedures. The specialities you will work with include; Endometriosis, Vulval, Colposcopy, Oncology, General Gynaecology and Urogynacology.
