Job summary

This is a NON - CLINICAL role - there is no contact with babies.Successful candidates will support the clinical staff by assisting in theprovision of the service and contribute to the effective running of theneonatal unit. They will provide support to the professional staff byensuring that the clinical environment is clean, organised andadequately stocked, that equipment is cleaned effectively and storedproperly.

There will be a maybe a need to undertake reception / clerical duties as requiredand to be an effective member of the neonatal team contributing to thebest possible use of resources.

Main duties of the job

The Neonatal Unit at Liverpool Women's Hospital is recruiting staff forNeonatal Assistant Band 2 positionsThis is a NON - CLINICAL role - there is no contact with babies.Successful candidates will support the clinical staff by assisting in theprovision of the service and contribute to the effective running of theneonatal unit. Job responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • To maintain adequate stock levels in the clinical areas, identifying any shortfalls to the unit manager
  • To ensure that stock is rotated as required
  • To clean clinical equipment in accordance with the Trust Infection Control policy and report any faults or service needs to Electrical Biomedical Engineers or the Unit Manager
  • To maintain adequate levels of clean baby linen and clothes
  • To ensure that all Resuscitaires and procedure trolleys are cleaned and stocked as required
  • To maintain clean and organised storage areas / pharmacy room
  • To ensure the safe disposal of all glass bottles in accordance with the Trust Health and Safety policy
  • To defrost and clean fridges and freezers as per schedule
  • To assist in maintaining the cleanliness of staff and parent sitting areas
  • To ensure that the parental accommodation is maintained to the agreed standard with the OCS staff and that there is adequate supplies of clean linen available at all times
