In addition to our core Obstetrics, Maternity, Neonatal and Gynaecology services we have recently established a CT and MRI service as part of the Crown Street Community Diagnostic Centre.This is an exciting development and provides CT and MRI to the region as well as to the Women and babies at Liverpool Women's Hospital.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with previous MRI experience to take the next step in their career as MRI Clinical Specialist Radiographer.

The Imaging Department is a forward thinking and friendly team specialising in general x-ray, fluoroscopy, Ultrasound, MRI and CT.

The MRI Clinical Specialist will work with the Lead Radiographer for CT/ MRI in providing leadership, direction and clinical expertise to the MRI Imaging service. We have a team of specialist sonographers and radiographer's providing X-Ray and Ultrasound and we are looking to expand our service significantly.

The MRI Clinical Specialist Radiographer will support the CT / MRI Lead Radiographer in providing operational support, transforming the MRI imaging service and leading the Department into a new era as part of the Community Diagnostic Centre.

Main duties of the job

The MRI Clinical Specialist Radiographer will:

  • Provide professional and clinical leadership for the MRI service performing general and specialist MRI examinations.
  • To provide staff with training and knowledge to fulfil the requirements of the service, promoting an ethos of continued professional development and to lead by example.
  • To initiate and implement policy and service development in the field of MRI.
  • To maintain n a high quality, efficient, cost-effective MRI Imaging Service through effective management of staff, facilities and available resources.
  • Provide clear clinical leadership for the day-to-day organisation of the MRI service in accordance with professional and departmental protocols.
  • Communicate effectively with the wider multidisciplinary teams at LWH.
