Job summary
To provide clinical support to the senior sonographers, sonographers, radiographers and patients within the Imaging department. To ensure safe working and high standards of care.
Main duties of the job
- Enter and retrieve data in Imaging computer systems Meditech and CRIS
- Receive patients in a courteous and friendly manner
- Keep patients informed of progress of clinics and assist in monitoring start, finish and waiting times
- Assist all staff during clinical procedures, as required, ensuring patient's dignity and privacy are respected, and safety is maintained
- Ensure the patient has been given relevant information and understands what they have been told. Refer to clinical staff if there are any queries relating to patient or clinic
- Forward requests for investigations to the correct departments
- Ensure that rooms are left tidy and clean after each clinic
- To assist in maintaining the cleanliness and tidiness of clinic environment and safe disposal of soiled equipment and linen
- To be able to deal with distressed patients and relatives e.g. patients who may have received bad news.
- To use the hospitals computer systems
- To use computerised systems when dealing with patients in accordance with the data protection policy.
- To operate office machinery in an appropriate manner as required e.g. photocopiers, faxes, printers, PCs and shredders
- Assist in the production of obstetric GROW charts
- Perform departmental cleaning audits and comfort checks
- Order and organise stock for the department
