Job summary

In addition to our core Obstetrics, Maternity, Neonatal and Gynaecology services we have recently established a CT and MRI service as part of the Crown Street Community Diagnostic Centre.This is an exciting development and provides CT and MRI to the region as well as to the Women and babies at LWH.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with previous CT/ MRI experience to take the next step in their career. The Imaging Department is a forward thinking and friendly team specialising in general x-ray, fluoroscopy, Ultrasound, MRI and CT.

The Lead Radiographer for CT/ MRI will provide leadership, direction and clinical expertise to the Imaging service. We have a team of specialist sonographers and radiographer's providing X-Ray and Ultrasound and we are looking to expand our service significantly.

The Lead CT/ MRI Radiographer will support the Imaging Services Manager in providing strategic and operational support, transforming the cross sectional imaging service and leading the Department into a new era as part of the Crown Street Community Diagnostic Centre.

Main duties of the job

Overview of Essential Responsibilities:

  • Lead on the clinical standards of care for diagnostic service within radiology, CT, and MRI.
  • Deliver high quality clinical services in line with the clinical services strategy, supporting and delivering improvements in patient care and patient satisfaction
  • Ensure delivery against all quality and performance targets.
  • Line Manage Radiographers and promote a culture of compassionate leadership, promoting positive team working and engagement from staff and patients.
  • Provide clinical leadership in Imaging practice and develop for all professionals to facilitate an effective high quality and evidence based service to enhance patient care.
  • Facilitate Ultrasound & Imaging CRN portfolio based clinical research/ audit and initiate/implement evidence based practice.
  • Leading the Clinical Governance agenda, influencing the delivery of patient care within Imaging.
  • They will also act as Deputy to the Imaging Services Manager as required.
