We have an exciting opportunity for motivated and dynamic individual to join the Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy service at Clatterbridge Cancer Centrein our newly developed Assistant Practitioner post.
The post holder will work collaboratively with Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists, as well as our wider multi-disciplinary team, to deliver a variety of therapy interventions, supporting the assessment and treatment of patients living with Cancer.
You will receive comprehensive induction and training, regular peer support, in-service training and regular clinical supervisions.
Main duties of the job
The Assistant Practitioner will be directly involved in the delivery of the therapy interventions at various stages of a patient's treatment pathway.
You will have responsibility for managing and appropriately prioritising a varied caseload. You will be expected to safely assess and treat patients without direct supervision, as well as completion of tasks delegated by the Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists.
Excellent communication skills are essential as you will work with patients with complex needs, requiring communication of emotionally sensitive and challenging information. You will be supported by the Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists as needed, and will work with a wider multi-disciplinary team, as well as external services.
