Pharmacy Assistant - Aseptic Services

The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre (CCC) provides excellent cancer care to patients in the North West (including North Wales and the Isle of Man). We have 3 site locations; the central Liverpool site and hub sites in the Wirral and Aintree. Inpatient services, including 2 wards, bone marrow transplant service and the regional Teenage and Young Adult unit (supported by the Teenage Cancer Trust) are located at our Liverpool site.

It is an exciting time for the Pharmacy Production unit at CCC-Liverpool, which has recently obtained an MHRA specials license. The department is developing batch production through the use of VHP gassing Isolator technology. We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 2 Pharmacy Assistant which is an important position within our large, diverse and friendly pharmacy team.

Working pattern will be 37.5 hours per week, 8am-6pm over 4 days per week

Main duties of the job

In this role you will have a pass in GCSE English, Maths and a Science or equivalent. We will enrol you onto the NVQ II Pharmacy Services or equivalent to progress you further in the role.

In summary you will

  • Assemble and check all raw materials to be sent into designated clean rooms following standard operating procedures and trust guidelines.
  • Maintain asepsis in the clean room environment through good working practices.
  • Participate in volume checking of colleagues within the sterile chemotherapy unit.
  • Support ordering, receiving, rota and maintain all stocks within the department.

Compile documentation for quality control and quality assurance to adhere to licensing requirements of the department and within the trust
