Job summary

The Cheshire & Merseyside Diagnostics Programme is seeking to recruit a dynamic and forward-thinking programme manager to work in the Physiological Sciences Network. This is an innovative role to lead on workforce development in cardiac physiology across the Cheshire & Merseyside integrated care system.

The role will focus upon working collaboratively to plan and implement a system wide approach to education and training in cardiac physiology, enabling the system to attract, host and train a greater number of trainees and strengthen our workforce resilience.

The role will develop a networked approach to echocardiography training delivery as a priority, supporting trusts through the development of centralised training plans, materials and education packages. The programme manager will lead the development and implementation of a training network across the ICS, bringing together trusts and cardiac professionals to develop a strategic and integrated training approach, foster closer working between providers and shared ownership of the progression of trainees.

Working as part of the Physiological Sciences network, the role will work in partnership with the ICS, cardiac network and trusts in increasing the understanding of workforce priorities in cardiac physiology and develop coordinated plans to address challenges.

Main duties of the job

Develop a training network across C&M - a network of trusts that collaborate to deliver and improve cardiac training

Develop a structured approach to training provision across C&M providers e.g. identifying the departments to provide certain training for given tests.

Work with subject matter experts toplan specific training pathways for all levels across cardiac physiology

Develop standardised training materials and packages e.g. SOPs

Develop a single repository for training materials that is available to all trusts

Work with the Network Leads and Diagnostics Workforce Leadto develop network workforce plans including staffing requirements, upskilling and developing staffing models to support new ways of working

Lead the development of network training needs analysis, plans and submissions

Develop metrics around system training capacity, progress and monitor progress against

Enable increased trainee experience and learning through rotation across cardiac tests and different providers, supporting recruitment and retention

The post holder will build effective relationships with Universities and Academies providing a single voice for providers to universities.
