Cancer Support Worker Hybrid role (Breast and Gynae)

Job summary

The Breast and Gynae cancer team is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Band 4 Cancer Support Worker, to join the team in a new cancer support worker role. This is a new post that will support both services and be based with the Gynae team two days a week and with the breast team one day a week but will cross cover in the event of absence. The service is based at Clatterbridge Liverpool.

It is an exciting time to be involved with these teams where services are always being developed, to improve the management pathway of patients in these groups.

The successful applicant must be motivated and enthusiastic about the specialist care needs of these patient groups. They should be an outstanding communicator, able to demonstrate first-rate organisational and multitasking skills and have the ability to prioritise effectively and efficiently in a busy and fast paced work environment. You should possess advanced computer skills and a knowledge of community health services. They should be able to work well autonomously and as part of a strong multidisciplinary team in order to deliver and maintain a high quality of care.

Main duties of the job

The successful individual will have a role in contributing to the delivery of the Trust Objectives as well as objectives for the Breast and Gynae Cancer Service ensuring that the care delivered reflects the trusts vision and values.

The post holder will conduct holistic needs assessment and support to patients and their carer`s throughout their care pathway, as well as providing support to staff throughout the trust. The post holder will support the consultant and nursing team as well as signposting services for patients
