Job summary
The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre NHS Foundation Trust (CCC) is seeking to appoint a Pre-treatment Advanced Practitioner within the treatment planning team at CCC as part of the wider physics department.
The postholder would be working as part of a team of 14 pre-treatment radiographers and dosimetrists supporting the provision of advanced treatment techniques and participating in the development of new and emerging advances.
Main duties of the job
Pre-Treatment Advanced Practitioner - Treatment Planning
Permanent - 37.5 hours per week - Band 7
To use own analytical and judgement skills to plan patient's radiotherapy treatment to the highest possible standard.
Provide advanced technical advice to all staff.
Supervising radiographers and trainees during training. Take responsibility for assessing individual competency.
To utilise autonomy of advanced practitioner within the clinical area.
Work as a team with other members of the pre-treatment Expert Practitioners and education team to ensure that the needs of all learners are met within pre-treatment.
Acts as a focus for resolving clinical issues within the area.
To maintain skills by attending the application courses for new software and cascade information and skills to the team.
Continuously review the imaging, pre-treatment and treatment processes used within the department; assist in service redesign/development and audit compliance to department policies
Work as a team with other Advanced Practitioners to ensure that pre-treatment procedures are adhered to and reviewed.
