CCC is looking for a new Head of PMO to lead the Trust's Programme Management Office.This is a key senior position in the Trust.The PMO's ever-evolving work programme supports the Trust to deliver its priority projects and contributes towards the overall delivery of our five-year strategic plan.
Working closely with the Director of Strategy the postholder will have responsibility for managing and aligning a number of pan-organisational projects and programmes, the delivery of which are critical to the Trust's objectives.

The Head of PMO will have responsibility for the leadership and development of the PMO team. Working closely with the Director of Strategy the postholder will have responsibility for managing and aligning a number of pan-organisational projects and programmes, the delivery of which are critical to the Trust's objectives.
As well as taking personal responsibility for specific complex projects the postholder will ensure that PMO resources and skills are aligned to the delivery of the Trust's priorities.
The postholder will ensure that a consistent project methodology is applied to the delivery of complex projects and ensure that progress and risks are visible to internal and external stakeholders.This is a senior and highly visible role within CCC and externally across Cheshire and Merseyside. The postholder will work closely with managers and clinicians and be responsible for managing their own workload and other project resources.

Job responsibilities
- Leadership and direct line management responsibility for the PMO team and senior project staff
- Deploy the skills and resources of the team flexibly to support the different projects and work streams across the Trust.
- Provide programme management support and input to all work streams as required, facilitating, coaching and advising and also holding individuals to account for delivery
- Ensure that the work of the PMO is communicated effectively internally and externally.
- Ensure effective and robust governance arrangements are in place for the work programme of the PMO.
- Intervene at an early point where projects or work streams are not making the required progress, ensuring that corrective action is taken.
- Be instrumental in managing and coordinating resources across the Trust to deliver multi-disciplinary projects to deliver the Trusts priorities.
- Act as the budget holder for the PMO (overall annual budget of circa £700,000), ensuring compliance with the Trusts Standing Financial Instructions and all budgetary management responsibilities.
- Communicate at all levels within the Trust and to external agencies.
- Lead the production of key strategic documents such as strategic outline cases, programme reports and business cases, to the standard required for senior internal and external board-level audiences.
- Work with senior colleagues to ensure that the work programme of the PMO is aligned to the Trusts business planning cycle and cost improvement programme.
- Develop, refine and implement a simple and clear project and programme management methodology
- Update the CCC Trust Board and its sub-committees on the status of priority projects, identifying risks, achievements, milestones and interdependencies across the Trust.
- Significant autonomy in the role and high levels of professional judgement required.
