Due to the retirement of the current post holder an exciting opportunity has arisen to lead our Clatterbridge Cancer Centre PACS team in the Radiology department. As the leader of this team you will be responsible for the day to day management of the Radiology IT systems and the PACS team members.
We operate over three sites , the Wirral and two Liverpool sites including the recently acquired CDC. Both the Wirral and the main Liverpool site are QSI accredited.
You will be a highly motivated and progressive Imaging Systems Manager responsible for providing a high quality and efficient IT service to the Radiology department and the wider Trust. You will primarily be responsible for PACS and RIS on a day to day basis and a knowledge of EPR and its interface with RIS is desirable.
With a first degree in Radiography or Information Technology, you will need excellent communication skills and be able to liaise with a multi-disciplinary team within Imaging and the wider Trust and with external suppliers. You will also be represent the Trust within the Cheshire and Merseyside PACS and RIS consortium.
You will need to be flexible, able to travel to meetings and be available out of hours on occasion for system testing and changes.

Main duties of the job
Overall responsibility to administer, manage and support all Radiology systems, across multiple CCC sites. This includes the Picture Archive & Communication System (PACS), Radiology Information System (RIS), Image Exchange Portal, (IEP) Radiology Order Comms. and changes needed for the Electronic Patient Record system (EPR).
Accountable for the efficient day-to-day PACS/RIS service delivery in the clinical environment to ensure continuity of patient care. This role includes the development and maintenance of PACS/RIS operational policies and procedures, system audit, Freedom of Information, (FOI) handling of complaints and liaison with clinical users and third party suppliers.
Manages all issues relating to and affecting PACS/RIS and advises on the prioritisation and allocation of budgetary resources to support service development and improvement
Responsible for delivery of PACS/RIS training to all relevant Trust clinical and non-clinical staff.
Provide expert advice to IM&T Boards with regard to PACS and RIS
Line manage staff in the PACS/RIS Support Team
Plan, co-ordinate and stimulate future developments of the system and roll out of systems Trust wide.
For development of Radiology systems strategy; across Cheshire and Merseyside, work closely with key stakeholders and management in the evaluation, selection and procurement of new systems
Represents Radiology at all trust digital meetings as needed and provides specialist advice in relation to radiology systems.

Leadership
Line manager for PACS/RIS Support Team, supervises staff working in own area of responsibility, prioritising and planning daily activities. Monitors the performance of staff working in own area of responsibility against set competencies.
- Provide training, support and development for the PACS/RIS Support Team, and Superusers.
