Job summary

Patient Services Officer - Permanent

Hours - 37.50 per week

This role shifts will cover from 8am - 8pm & will on occasions include some weekend & bank holiday working on a rotational basis

An exciting opportunity has arisen in Clatterbridge Cancer Centre on the Wirral site for a motivated and proactive individual to become part of a busy and friendly appointment team. The role can often be varied and complex but with a high level of job satisfaction.

The role requires the candidate to be a good team player as the successful candidate will be joining a large administration and clerical group with good peer group support. The role will also offer the candidate opportunities to learn new skills within Network Services Division and variety in their day to day activities.

The post holder will also be responsible for appointing radiology slots across many services for extremely busy departments. This will include a full appointment booking system and ensuring patients are communicated with in a timely manner. Excellent administration skills, with a good knowledge of Microsoft applications and experience of working with patient records and using multiple hospital databases is advantageous

The post holder will participate in theappointing of radiology appointments across hubs and be expected to undertake additional clerical duties pertaining to specific areas. The post holder will also be expected to liaise with the clinical Teams within the departments

Main duties of the job

Experience of booking multiple series of appointments as per protocols To participate in administrative and clerical duties. To maintain confidentiality at all timesTo have a knowledge of a range of procedures and appointments across multiple servicesTo communicate with patients around their appointments liaising with Clinicians regarding complex cases.

Our flagship specialist cancer hospital opened in central Liverpool in June 2020, supported by our hospital on the Clatterbridge Health Park in Wirral providing outpatient cancer treatment and supportive care and our radiotherapy treatment centre on the Aintree Hospital site.
