This role is open to all applicants. However, in line with Cornwall First recruitment principles, initial shortlisting will prioritise applicants from Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust, Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, and the Integrated Care Board for Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.
You will be joining a team who provide supporting services to patients undergoing cancer treatments. You will primarily be involved in the planning of Radiotherapy treatments, which requires a good level of anatomical knowledge as well as the ability to problem solve and critically appraise treatment plans to ensure each patient receives the best treatment possible. Our role predominantly involves using CT imaging to find the most effective way to deliver a radiation dose to target structures whilst simultaneously protecting other vulnerable anatomy to minimise side effects. You will also have the opportunity to learn how the treatment machines work and assist with routine quality assurance testing to ensure these are operating within tight tolerances.

The job description describes the Band 5 post for which you would be eligible to apply upon successful completion of the apprenticeship. The person specification includes the required qualifications and skills for starting as an apprentice.
