Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen within Critical Care Occupational Therapy team for a skilled, dynamic and collaborative Occupational Therapist to join the Critical Care Occupational Therapy Service.
We are extremely keen to hear from Occupational Therapists with strong leadership credentials and who have considerable experience in rehabilitation. You will have the opportunity to work closely and collaboratively with the existing Band 7 Team Lead to shape the critical care Occupational Therapy team.
In addition, this role works closely with the wider MDT which includes Dietitians, Physiotherapists, Psychologists and Speech and Language Therapists in addition to the Critical Care Nurses and Medical workforce.
This is apart-time post of 22.5hrs per week - working pattern to be discussed following appointment of successful candidate.
Main duties of the job
To provide a high standard Occupational Therapy service.
To maintain an agreed case load within in the clinical specialism, performing advanced assessment of patientsincluding those with highly complex presentations. To formulate diagnoses and treatment plans, as anautonomous practitioner.
To undertake line manager duties for the team.
To work alongside the Inpatient Therapy Manager and Deputy Inpatient Therapy Manager, and theOccupational Therapy Therapy Professional Lead, in planning, co-coordinating, delivering and evaluating theservice.
To be instrumental in the on-going development of services and practices that provide high quality care andinterventions.
To carry out any special duties associated with the post (eg overseeing recruitment to Band 5/6 rotation,representing the therapy service at various forums).
